We bid farewell to Roy Hugh Gowens in Van Buren, Arkansas, whose journey of life gracefully concluded on April 3, 2026 at the age of 96. Roy touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. He was predeceased by: his parents, Clarence Gowens and Bertha Morris Gowens; his brothers, Ray Gowens, James Gowens and Chester "Beb" Gowens; his wife Jannette Bohannon Gowens; and the mother of his children Avanelle Perry Gowens.
He is survived by: his children, Linda Trent (Kenny) of Alma, Elaine Milliken of Bentonville and Roger Gowens of Fort Smith; his stepdaughters, Beth Bohannon and Kathy Bolin of Fort Smith; and his grandsons, Daniel Milliken, Colin Roden, Sean Milliken, Michael Roden, Matt Milliken, Jeffrey Roden and Joseph Gowens. He is also survived by six great-grandsons; and six great-granddaughters.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Arkansas Baptist Ranch, 5742 Boys Ranch Drive, Harrison, AR 72601.
