He was predeceased by: his parents, Pauline Nichols (Goolsby) and Charlie Nichols; his brother Tommy Nichols; his stepmother Mildred Nichols; his wife Martha Joanne "Jody" Nichols; and his siblings, Shurman "Red" Nichols and Patsy Vines.
He is survived by: his sons, Jerry Lee Nichols of Clinton Oklahoma and Lee Don "ToJo" Nichols of Van Buren, Arkansas; his grandchildren, Lee of Van Buren, Christian of Van Buren, Bella of Van Buren and Noah of Van Buren; and his friends, Pam and Pat. He is also survived by four nieces and six nephews, several cousins.
A graveside service was held on Friday, May 8th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the Fort Smith National Cemetery (522 Garland Ave, Fort Smith, AR 72901).
