He was predeceased by: his parents, James G. Whatley and Willie Dee Sandifer Whatley; his father-in-law Billy Joe Barker; and his brothers-in-law, James Barker, Ritchie Barker, Randy Paul and Ronald Paul.
He is survived by: his wife Vicki Jo Barker Whatley; his children, Wayne Whatley and Erika Chamberlain (Frank); his grandchildren, Austin Vaughn, Kelsey Whatley (TJ), Victoria Loe (Colton) and Connor Chamberlain; his mother-in-law Gloria Barker; his siblings, Joey Whatley (Brenda), Sheryl Paul, Barbara Wilson (Bobby) and Norma Paul; and his sisters-in-law, Sherry Smart (Tony), Theresa McGrew (Mark) and Shawnee (Dennis).
