She was predeceased by: her parents, J. C. "Sug" Zackery and Susie Henrietta Zackery; her sons, Alonzo Askew and Kevin Askew; her grandson Brandon Askew; her siblings, Darletha Zackery-Smith, J. C. Zackery Jr. and Richard Zackery; her son-in-law Thomas Messer; and her grandparents, Dolbest, Susie Zackery, Sam and Mattie Mobley.
She is survived by: her friends, Mary Creer-Lane and Carrie Mae Robinson; her husband Noah Askew; her children, Stan Askew of Texarkana, TX, Richard Askew (Linda) of Magnolia, AR, Darnell Askew of Sherwood, AR and Varnell Askew-Messer of Jacksonville, AR; her grandchildren, Sharittia Askew of Mesquite, TX and Richard Askew Jr. of Magnolia, AR; her great grandchildren, Shymaryia "Shy" Christopher, Jermaine Christopher and JerMiyah Christopher of Mesquite, TX; her brother Minister Ernest Zackery Sr. (Alma) of Dallas, TX; and her siblings-in-law, Marilyn Askew of Lancaster, TX, Daisy Askew of Dallas, TX, Ida Thomas of Magnolia, AR, Ruby Kohlmon of Little Rock, AR and Edmund Askew of Lancaster, TX. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Viewing was held on Sunday, November 30th 2025 from 1:30 PM to 2:30 PM at the Westside Church of Christ (201 S Adair St, Waldo, AR 71770). A celebration of life was held on Sunday, November 30th 2025 at 2:30 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Sunday, November 30th 2025 at the Smith Cemetery. A final viewing will be held Sunday before service, from 1:30 – 2:30 p. m., at Westside Church of Christ in Waldo, AR For precaution due to the COVID-19, Masks are Encouraged but Not Required While Attending the Services and During Visitation Hours. However, wearing masks ensures safety for you and others.
