He was predeceased by : his parents, Charles Powell and Grace McElreath; and his sister JoAnn Caldwell (David). He is survived by : his friend Judy Starr; his children, Teresa McArver (Bruce), Randy Powell (Sonia) and Judy Wilbanks (Bobby); his grandchildren, Chase McArver, Charity Beallis (Randy) and Robbie Wilbanks; his great grandchildren, Ellianna Beallis and Maverick Beallis; and his sister Pam Barbee (Mike). He is also survived by niece and two great nephews.

“Teresa, Randy, Judy, Judy and family, I just heard the news and I am so sorry for your loss. I loved your dad and he reminded me so much of George. I know they are telling jokes and having a big time up in heaven together. I am so happy we got to get to know him some while we were here in Arkansas. He was a force of nature and our family historian. He will be missed greatly. Love to you all. If there is anything we can do please don't hesitate to call.”
