He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert L. Simpson and Bertie Simpson; his sons, Robert Dirk Simpson, Don L. Ã and ÅAceÃ; and his siblings, Downey Simpson and Geneva Copeland.
He is survived by: his children, Donald Heith Simpson of Warren and Christy Hammock of Monticello. He is also survived by twelve grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren.
