He was predeceased by: his parents, Quinnie Gates and Zola Bea Grider Gates; his wife Alvanette Johnston Gates; his sons, Bobby and Buddy Taylor; and his siblings, Oran, Elbert, Carl, Doyle Gates and Ardie Bea Gates Green.
He is survived by: his children, Regina Gates Gorman (David) of Monticello, Arkansas and Ronald Keith Gates of Warren, Arkansas; and his close friend Linda McDaniel of Warren, Arkansas.. He is also survived by grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Friday, March 6th 2026 from 12:30 PM to 2:00 PM at the Frazer’s Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held on Friday, March 6th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
