He was predeceased by : his parents, James Whitaker and Susie Miller Whitaker; his son Mark Whitaker, Jr.; and his siblings, Jesse Whitaker, Lee Whitaker, Tommy Whitaker, Aubrey Whitaker, Pinky Whitaker, Glenda Roden and Hesterine Whitaker.
He is survived by : his children, Rickey Whitaker (Ashley) of Warren, Brandy Whitaker (Jason) of Warren and Angie Raymond (Ricky) of Lambert, Mississippi; and his siblings, Floyd Whitaker of Hamburg, Shirley Whitaker of Indianola, Mae Raymond of Leland Mississippi, Patsy Pinion of Leland and Mary Luby of Leland, Mississippi.. He is also survived by nine grandchildren.
