We are sad to announce that on January 31, 2025, at the age of 91, Jimmy Vernon Payton of Watson, Arkansas passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
In the sacred silence of farewell, Jimmy is released into the embrace of eternity, knowing that his light will continue to shine brightly in the tapestry of the lives of his loved ones. And as his memory is carried forward, may comfort be found in the knowledge that love is eternal, and that Jimmy's spirit lives on in the beauty that surrounds us.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Karl Marx Payton and Lula Lillian Neece Payton. He is survived by: his sons, David Vernon (Teresa) of Colorado Springs, CO and Jerry Phillip of Wilmington, NC; his granddaughters, Ashley Taylor Ammons (Ira) of Rocky Mount, NC, Melanie Lynn Chanilall and Stephanie Victoria Taylor (Josh) of Pilot Mountain, NC; and his siblings, KarLynn Roberts of Nashville, TN, Albert Wesley Payton (Celeste), Leta Marie Porter (John Larry) of Tyler, TX and Sanford Payton (Beverly) of Nashville, TN.. He is also survived by ten great-grandchildren.
