He was predeceased by : his parents, Betty Jean Martin Hooper and Denver Hooper; and his siblings, Carl Hooper, Larry Hooper and Linda Barksdale.

He is survived by : his wife Thelma Hooper; his son Gary; his daughter-in-law Amanda Hooper of Forum; and his daughters, Ida Greenlee of Wesley, Anna (Jeremy Stines) and Linda Brown of Wesley. He is also survived by 19 grandchildren.
