He is survived by : his wife Sue Benson Carter; his children, Bill and Courtney; his son-in-law Jared Zeiser of Hot Springs; his grandchildren, Carter Zeiser of Hot Springs and Caroline Parkman (Delan) of Wheatley; his sister-in-law Betty Carter (Little Rock); his nephews, Jerry Lee Carter (Little Rock) and Brent Carter (Heber Springs); and his niece Teresa Murphy (Little Rock).
