She was predeceased by: her husband Luther Leon Thomas; her parents, Allie Julia and Spurgeon Taylor; and her brothers, Henry, Sylvester, Enes and Aldridge Taylor.
She is survived by: her sisters, Joan Taylor Sims, Carolyn Spann and Mary Francis Durden; her son Bryant Haynes Thomas (Thurma) of Biloxi, MS; and her grandchildren, Courtney Tate, Nakelia Robinson, Kanittha Thomas, James Tate Jr., Jason Tate, Marcus Tate, Demarcus Tate, Shondolyn Villacis (Edward), Tiffany Tate, Carlisa Scott, Chandria Scott, Xavier Thomas, Capri Haynes, Christa Podojil, Breanna Scott, Christa Haynes, Regine Scott and Natasha Tate. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins.
