He was predeceased by: his parent Sammy Calhoun; his grandparents, Dorothy Tate and Leroy Tate, Sr.; his uncles, Leroy Tate, Jr. and Hayward Tate, Sr.; his aunt Mary Oliver; his brothers, Jack Wilson and Artis James Baker; and his mother-in-law Sarah Nicholson.

He is survived by: his mother Eliza Tate; his wife Addie Wilson; his children, Martez (Jennifer), Dylan, Markeya (Keevan), Tremia (Brian), Alexis and Kiara; his siblings, Charles (Laniel), Joe (Shirley), Diane, Dorothy (Tim), Saderra (Kevin) and Tanya; his sisters-in-law, Annie, Deloris (Ricky), Faye, Jeannie and Cora; and his godfather Reverend L. T. Mapp. He is also survived by thirteen grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
