It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Monroe Jerome Winston of West Helena, Arkansas, born in Helena, Arkansas, who passed away on December 28, 2023, at the age of 83, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Earnest Winston and Alma Alexander Fields Winston; his wife Silveree Smith Winston; his son Cortez Johnson; his siblings, Nathaniel Winston, Wille Ward Jr., Anna Louise Cunningham and Willine Harris; and his brothers-in-law, Walt Cunningham and Jessie Harris.
He is survived by: his son Alvin L. Taylor (Wanda) of Hawthorne, CA; his sisters, Ruthie Stevenson (Marsett), Mary Buford (Floyd) of West Helena, AR and Queen Esther Neal (Neal); his grandchildren, La Juanna "Susie" Taylor of Hawthrone, CA and Alvin "Snoopy" L. Taylor Jr. (Isha) of Moreno Valley, CA; and his great grandchildren, Kayla Taylor, Laila Taylor, Kyrie Taylor and Heaven Taylor of Moreno Valley, CA. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
