He is survived by: his children, Alan W. Proffitt (Linda), Brian W. Proffitt (Lisa), John J. Proffitt, Laura J. Estes (Britt) and Dana L. Wheatley (Nick); and his siblings, Thomas E. Proffitt, Don G. Proffitt, Berry J. Proffitt, Jackie N. Hill and Sharon K. Howard. He is also survived by many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
