He is survived by: his wife Christine Chitman; his children, Marion Young, Rosie Strong, Leon Chitman and Richard Chitman; and his siblings, Eddie Cowser, Georgia Ford, Bernestine Williams-Stayton, Ruby Chitman and Paul Chitman. He is also survived by 18 grandchildren and 28 great grandchildren.
