She is survived by: her close friend James Hasselle McCain; her daughters, Elizabeth Leigh Barrett (Bryan) and Mary Bird Smith (Cookie); her grandchildren, Elizabeth Ellen Dial, Marguerite Kathryn Barrett and Joshua Barrett; her sister Mary Margaret Champagne (Harold); and her nephews, Steve Champagne, Stanley Champagne and Alan Champagne of Houston, Texas..
