He is survived by: his wife Sarah Griggs; his children, Patricia Ann Griggs Smith (David) and Rickey Lynn Griggs (Lisa Cannon); and his grandchildren, Mel Curtis, Jr., Chris Curtis, Rocky Griggs, Dillon Griggs, Taylor Griggs, Spencer Griggs, David Smith and Charlie Moore.
