Muriel JoAnn Tippy Obituary
Muriel JoAnn Tippy, age 91, passed away on September 29, 2026 at her home. She was born on November 11, 1934 in Olyphant, Arkansas.
Joann was a machine specialist at American Greetings for 35 years. She was a caregiver to her family for many more. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She always said she lived in God's country; and always said that when coming home from traveling. She loved sewing, cooking, doing crossword puzzles, watching Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy. She was a St. Louis Cardinals fan.
She is survived by her children: LeRoy Tippy, Jr. (Lucy), Nancy Duncan, Lisa Cook (Bill); daughter in laws: Teressa Tippy and Donna Tippy; fifteen grandchildren; twenty-one great grandchildren; three great great grandchildren; her children of love: Larry, Brenda, Rhonda, Rodney, Jan, Jerri Jayne; and a host of other family and friends.
She is preceded in death by; her loving husband LeRoy Tippy, Sr. of 67 years; three sons: Joe Charles Tippy, Gary Neal Tippy, and Perry Alan Tippy; one granddaughter: Bridgette Tippy; one son in law: Rick Duncan; her parents: Charley and Irma Sornson; three siblings: Alden Sornson, Grant Sornson, Betty Nichols; and her best friend: Elizabeth Cissell.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, October 3, 2026 at 4:00 p.m. at the Wilson Church of Christ in Wilson, Arkansas with Hank Parrish officiating.
