He was predeceased by: his parents, Guy Nichols and Mildred Patton Nichols; his former wife Alice Doyle Nichols; and his siblings, Rickey, Mickey, Johnnie, Edwin Nichols and JoAnn McFadden.
He is survived by: his wife Frances Stricklen Nichols; his daughters, Rose Blaylock (Lance), Cathy Woodard Sanders (Tom), Lisa Lee (Kerry) and Cindy Hooker (Jay); his grandchildren, Clint Woodard, Cody Blaylock, Chelsie Blaylock, Ryan Lee and Will Hooker; and his siblings, Guy, Mac, Albert Nichols, Barbara Sue Hutchens and Joyce Young. He is also survived by five great grandchildren.
