He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Martin Carter and Ida Lea Carter; and his wife Madoline of Galesburg, Illinois.. He is survived by: his children, Margie Towery (Bruce), Billy Carter (Amy), Peggy Paxton (James) and David Carter; and his grandchildren, Chad Towery (Amber), Chelsey Berry (Tyler), Danielle Wilson (Brody), Kaitlin Frakes (Todd), Logan Carter and Sydney Carter. He is also survived by seven great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 7th 2026 from 12:00 PM to 1:30 PM at the Kernodle Funeral Home (315 E Union Ave, Wynne, AR 72396). A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, October 7th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the Vanndale Cemetery (9 Cross County Rd 353 Rd, Wynne, AR 72396).
