He was predeceased by : his parent Marilyn Johnson; and his brothers, Smiley and Billy. He is survived by : his close friend Hilda Langston; his children, Richard Johnson Jr., Lisa Shelton and Deanna Smith; and his siblings, Carl, Kimberly, Natalie and Lisa. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
