It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Douglas M Quarles (Benson, Arizona), born in Jonesboro, Louisiana, who passed away on June 30, 2025, at the age of 72, leaving to mourn family and friends. Though Douglas may no longer walk beside us, his memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those Douglas touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. In his absence, his spirit lives on — a gentle whisper in the breeze, a ray of sunlight on a cloudy day, a reminder that love knows no boundaries.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Clifford and Sella Mae Womack Quarles; his siblings, Melvin (Dicky) and June Quarles; and his daughter Melinda Jordan.
He is survived by: his wife Sharon; and his children, April Jones, Jennifer, Jason Douglas and Shane. He is also survived by eight grandchildren, three great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
A funeral service was held on Monday, July 7th 2025 at 6:00 PM at the Barney Figueroa VFW Post 6271 (233 E 5th St, Benson, AZ 85602). A burial was held on Monday, July 14th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Gayla Traina Memorial Cemetery (2523 WINNFIELD HWY, Jonesboro, LA 71251).
