He was predeceased by : his wife Joan Raysky Thelander; his siblings, John Thelander (Jack), Elizabeth Bettaso (Betty) and William Thelander (Bill); and his parents, Hilding Thelander and Thelma Thelander (Nordholm).

He is survived by : his daughter Kimberly East (Ellis); his grandchildren, Ellen Robertson (Chad) and Earl East (Justine McCune); his brother Stanley Peter Thelander (Fran); and his great grandchildren, Parker James Robertson, Reed Wallace Robertson and Welden Acel East.
