He was predeceased by: his parents, James William Clark and Ina Sue Elliott; his daughter Belinda; and his siblings, Junior, Mary, Myrtle, Earl, Betty, Gary and Billy.

He is survived by: his children, Billy Ray, Kenneth James, Dennis Dean, James Roy II (Bunny), Ronda Stephens (Troy) and Melanie Parton (David). He is also survived by great-grandchildren.
