He was predeceased by: his parents, Ebin B. Welchel and Mamie Marie Jackson. He is survived by: his children, Krista Weir, Craig Smice, Michael Smice, Sandy Dobson, Shonna Rubingh, Marty Welchel, Greg Welchel and Cassandra Welchel; and his siblings, David Welchel, Jim Welchel, Thomas Welchel, Libby Purlee and Cindy Bailey.
