She was predeceased by: her father Marcelino "Marshal" Valdez; her husband Scott Simms; and her siblings, Jesus "Chuy" Valdez and Rosie Marie Salazar. She is survived by: her mother Sylvia Valdez; her pets, Ronnie, Maggie, Jack and Kimmie; her brother Marshall "Junior" Valdez; her nieces, Elyanna Juarez and Katherine Gastelum; and her great-nieces, Alivia Gastelum and Juliet Gastelum.

Visitation was held on Friday, September 11th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Heritage Casa Grande Funeral Home (1575 E Florence Blvd, Casa Grande, AZ 85122). A funeral service was held on Friday, September 11th 2026 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the same location.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Ronnie's honor to either of the following 501 (c)(3) nonprofit organizations: Itty Bitty Bottle Babies of Pinal County or Friends of Big Bear Valley.
