Daniel John Keegan Obituary

Daniel John Keegan, 75 years old, from Gilbert, AZ, passed away on August 23, 2026. His immediate family was there and surrounded him with love.

Dan was born June 11, 1951, to John and Clarice (Reiter) Keegan. He was raised in Iowa and attended school there. On July 1, 1972, Dan and Sue (Westendorf) were married. In 1985, they moved their young family to Arizona. Except for 10 years at John Deere Tractor Works in Waterloo, IA, Dan was mostly in the insulation industry, both commercial and residential, for many years.

Dan was preceded in death by his parents, as well as his brother, Ken Keegan, and sister, Beth Keegan. He is survived by his wife, Sue; sons, Nathan (Poppy) Keegan of Prescott Valley, AZ, and Matthew (Erin) Keegan of Chandler, AZ; and daughter, Brittany Keegan, also of Chandler, AZ. He was also lucky enough to have 4 grandkids: Patrick Keegan and Clarice Keegan, both of whom are seniors at NAU in Flagstaff; and Neely Keegan and Camryn Keegan of Chandler, AZ.

Dan is also survived by his 2 remaining sisters: Jan Pint of La Porte City, IA and Kathy Schares of Atlantic, IA, plus other family and friends.

While Dan loved to read and listen to old radio programs, his mind was always open to learning new things. But the thing he loved most was spending time with his wife, kids and grandkids.

Dan's remains have been cremated. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
