He was predeceased by: his parents, Carl Houston Nevels and Lorena Colby Nevels; his former wife Hanna; and his siblings, Ruth, Aloieweeze, Houston, Calvin, Ed and Evin.
He is survived by: his wife Sharon Nilges McNamara; his son Michael (Cheryl Farson); his stepchildren, Sherry Wright (Jordan), Brian Weskalnies (Jenifer) and Christopher McNamara (Erin); and his stepgrandsons, Jonathan, Benjamin Weskalnies, Aidan, Andrew and Asher McNamara. He is also survived by four sisters-in law, four brothers-in law, four nieces, four nephews.
