He was predeceased by: his parents, Ygnacio Valencia and Ygnacia Valencia; his wife Dora Mireles; and his siblings, Frank Valencia, Mercy Rodriguez, Socorro Mohamed, Mary Helen Williams and Charlotte Fernandez.

He is survived by: his sons, Gilbert Jr., Billy, Richard (Lindsey) and Marty; his grandchildren, Billy Jr., Monique, Iverson, Gabriel, Sydney and Leo; his great grandchild Miles; and his sister Beatrice Sainz.
