He is survived by: his close friend Geraldine Salazar; his siblings, Irene Mariscal (Alvaro) and Fred Avalos (Cathy); his nephew Dr. Rick Laguna; his great-nephew Evan; his great-niece Riley Laguna; and his niece Marisa Avalos Thomas (Liz). He is also survived by numerous cousins and friends.
