He was predeceased by: his parents, William Smith and Pauline Agnes Klein. He is survived by: his sons, Daniel Smith (Lisa) and Andrew Smith (Jennifer); his former wife Nancy; his siblings, Sandra Campbell (Gary), Bill Smith (Kathryn), Rob Smith and Doug Smith; his grandson Nicholas Smith (Kseniia); and his great grandchild Dean Smith.
