She was predeceased by: her husband Reed Gibbons Thurber; her parents, Ray Hale and Annie Hale; and her sister Sady Greer. She is survived by: her brother Lamar Hale; and her children, Shelly Taylor, Allison Carpenter, Leann Birch and Carl Thurber. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren and 34 great-grandchildren.
