He was predeceased by: his parents, Sylvester Cassaday and Pauline Cassaday; his daughter Natalie; his siblings, Emma Jean Dundas and Larry Cassaday; and his brothers-in-law, Russ Devericks, Jim Freeman and Don Freeman.

He is survived by: his wife Ellen; his son Douglas (Jill); his grandchildren, Hannah, Matthew and Jenna; his great grandchildren, Weston, McKenzie and Natalie; his siblings, Calvin Cassaday (Janet), Connie Freeman, Carol Freeman and Ellen Devericks; and his siblings-in-law, Emily Cassaday and Bruce Dundas. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
