He is survived by: his siblings, Jose Jr., Tranquilino, Guillermo, Ambrosio, Luis, Antonia and Nellie Cardenas; his grandson Michael Bourquez; his great grandchild Sofia Cardenas; his wife Mary of Gilbert, AZ; his children, Kathy Ruiz (Ignacio), Sallie Morrison (Don), Cipi Jr. Cardenas (Tracey), Jose Cardenas (LeeAnne) and Rose Hernandez (Jacob); his grandchildren, Nicole (Josh), Jacob, Vanessa, Easton (Michaela), Danielle, Cody (Esperanza), Ashley (Miguel), BreAnna (Gunner), Joey, Jake, Adrianna, Ciera, Eli, Jazlynn and Jax; his great grandchildren, Michelangelo, Diego, Esperanza, Donatello, Leonardo, Liliana, Trinity and Hazel; and his sisters, Henrietta Ruiz (late Fermin) and Julie Sierra (late Nick). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
