He is survived by: his children, Jackie Shimek (Jim), Marcy Ortiz (Paul) and Todd Shimek (Terri); his sister Daune Sisel (late Jim); his grandchildren, Kristi, Mendoza, Rene Trujillo (Eddie), Jonathan of Minnesota, Kevin Ortiz (Shayna), Daniel, Todd Jr. Shimek, Ashleigh Shimek and Jake Shimek (Alyssa); and his nephews, Vickey Ropson (Kevin), Jaime Sisel and Wayne Sisel (Sandy). He is also survived by 3 great- great grandchildren, 2 great nieces/nephews and 3 great-great nieces.
