In Loving Memory of Daniel Rayford MayneDaniel "Dan" Rayford Mayne, 48, passed away on September 30, 2026, at Banner Desert Medical Center in Mesa, Arizona. Born May 3, 1978, in Fort Payne, Alabama, to Donna Clayton and George Mayne, he later resided in Tempe, Arizona.
Daniel is survived by his mother, Donna Clayton of Chandler, AZ; his maternal grandmother, Rebecca Clayton of Collinsville, AL; his daughter, Summer McKinney of Collinsville, AL; his chosen son, Joel Davis of Henegar, AL; and his devoted love, Becky Snyder of Gilbert, AZ.
He also leaves behind his siblings and their families: his brother, Drew Mayne, and wife, Allison, of Ringgold, GA, along with their sons, Davis and Dalton; his brother, Bo Doeg, and wife, Amanda, of Fort Payne, AL, along with their daughters, Elaina and Layla; his sister, Nikki Green, and husband, Chuck, of Maricopa, AZ, along with their children, Caliana and Charlie; and his brother, Jesse Jordan, of Thomasville, AL. He is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, and other loving family members.
Daniel was preceded in death by his father, George Winston Mayne; his maternal grandfather, Paul Daniel Clayton; his paternal grandparents, George Henry Mayne and Eunice Emma Wester Mayne; and his niece, Brindley Ann Mayne.
Daniel was a proud native of Collinsville, Alabama. After moving to Arizona in 2014, he found both a career and a community that quickly became central to his life. He became active in several local groups, where he formed valued friendships. His easy friendliness and quick wit gave him an instant connection with people, which he maintained by staying in daily contact with many.
Daniel carried a passionate love for Auburn Tigers football throughout his life. He embraced life with a kind of joyful consistency. Every Tuesday was Taco Tuesday, and Wednesdays were for wearing pink—an easy tradition that became one of his most recognizable quirks.
Above all, Daniel will be remembered for his warm spirit, his infectious laughter, and the deep love he showed to his family and friends. He will be profoundly missed by all who had the blessing of knowing him.
