David Alexander Bone Obituary
David Alexander Bone, known to family and friends as Alex, of Mesa, Arizona, passed away on October 22, 2026, at the age of 58. He was born in San Diego, California, on June 16, 1968.
Alex's love of sports began early with baseball and hockey, and he remained a devoted fan throughout his life. During football season, Sundays were his favorite day. He cheered for his hometown teams—the San Diego Padres and San Diego Chargers (later the Los Angeles Chargers)—as well as the L.A. Kings.
Alex was larger than life, with jokes upon jokes and a love of laughing and being silly. He loved cooking and was wonderful at it. Beneath his playful spirit was a tender heart; even a sappy movie could bring him to tears. Alex also loved golf, the beach, music, and the pets who shared his life over the years.
His easy charm served him well in the wine sales industry, where he excelled and made many friends. In recent years, health challenges led him to retire.
Alex was preceded in death by his father, David Bone; and his grandparents: Lawrence and Laura McClanahan, Floyd and Myrtle Schroeder, and Josephine Kipphorn.
He is survived by his wife, Kelly Bone; his mother and stepfather, Sandra and Calvin Schroeder; his sister, Kristi Robertson, and her partner, Bryan Krcil; his nephew, Tyler Johnson; and many loving extended family members and friends, both lifelong and more recently made.
A celebration of Alex's life will be planned for a future date. Friends and family are welcome to share their stories and photos of Alex through the years. In lieu of flowers, those who wish may make a donation in his memory to a charitable organization of their choice.
