He was predeceased by: his parents, James Laffey and Shirley Laffey; his stepsister Joy Brydon; and his son Philip Laffey. He is survived by: his wife Nancy Gail Schmidt; his children, Troy Laffey, Heather Thomas (Brad) and Mary Payne (Darrell Jr); his grandchildren, Kate, Kiersten Thomas, Darrell and Madeline Payne; and his stepsisters, Nancy Bourke and Linda Dunlosky.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 19th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Lakeshore Mortuary (1815 S Dobson Rd, Mesa, AZ 85202). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, June 19th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the same location.
