Eric was a beloved son, father, husband, brother, grandfather, and friend to so many. He was a hardworking man with a big heart, someone who dedicated himself to his family, his work, and the people around him. His presence touched many lives, and his absence leaves an emptiness that words can never fully describe.

For the last 26 years, Eric worked at Scale Center of Arizona, where he dedicated decades of hard work, commitment, and perseverance. His years of service reflected the kind of man he was: dependable, determined, and willing to put in the effort to provide and do his part. His coworkers and those who knew him will remember the time and dedication he gave throughout his many years there.

Eric also had a heart for serving others. During his time in Hastings, New York, he volunteered as a firefighter and EMT, giving his time to help people in their moments of need. He was someone who stepped up to serve his community, and that part of his life will always be a meaningful piece of his legacy.

Outside of work and service, Eric found happiness in the things he loved most. He was a devoted fan of the Pittsburgh Penguins and the Buffalo Bills, and his love for hockey and football was something those close to him knew well. He also loved music, which brought joy and memories throughout his life. These simple but meaningful passions will forever remind his family and friends of him.

Above all else, Eric was family. He was a son to Harold and Julia; a brother to Crystal and Jake; a husband to Tamara; and a father to Mason (Tristen) and Kara (Michael). He was also a proud grandfather to Braxton and was looking forward to welcoming his granddaughter, Braelynn, into the family. Though she will not have the opportunity to meet him in the way everyone had hoped, his family will make sure she grows up knowing who he was, how deeply he was loved, and how much he was already looking forward to her arrival.

To his children, Eric was more than just a father. He was a part of their story, their memories, and the foundation of who they are. Losing a dad leaves a pain that cannot be measured, a silence where his voice should be, and countless moments when the heart wishes for just one more conversation, one more laugh, or one more hug. His love will remain with Mason and Kara for the rest of their lives, carried in the memories they shared and the pieces of him they will always hold close.

Eric's family also holds a special place in their hearts for Ophilia, the beloved daughter of Kara and Michael, who was lost through miscarriage. Though she never had the chance to be held in their arms or meet her family here on earth, Ophilia will forever be a cherished part of their family and their story. Her life, however brief, will never be forgotten, and the love they hold for her will always remain. She and her grandfather Eric are forever connected by a bond that transcends this life. They are together at last.

Though Eric and his wife, despite being separated, remained legally married, their shared history and the family they built together will always be a part of his legacy. As his wife, she, too, is part of the story of his life and the family he leaves behind.

Eric's passing is a reminder of just how deeply one person can become woven into the lives of so many. He was a hardworking employee, a community volunteer, a son, a husband, a father, a grandfather, and a friend. Each of these roles was a part of the life he built, and each leaves behind its own memories and its own sense of loss.

Although his family and friends must now face life without him, Eric's legacy will live on. It will live on in his children and grandchildren, in the stories told around family gatherings, in the songs that bring him to mind, in the cheers for his favorite teams, and in the memories shared by everyone whose life he touched.
