He is survived by: his mother Annia Ugalde; his siblings, Viviana Pinilla (Grant Heinz), Alicia Linker (Chris Linker), Annia Salas (Ryan Mahan), Jose Humberto Pinilla, Alvaro Pinilla (Cristina Pinilla) and Sergio Pinilla (Robin Pinilla); his nieces and nephews, Afton (Derek), Milena (John), Bree, Hunt (Justiss), Andrea, Karen, Mariela, Marco, Adam, Benjamin (Shelby), Michael, Nick, Alissa, Ilanna and Carlos David IV; and his great-nephews, Dylan, Hank, Shane, Liev, Keao, Riley and Jackson.
Ernesto was involved in the Alzheimer Biomarker Consortium - Down Syndrome (ABC-DS) brain study with Dr. Beau Ances at Washington University in St. Louis and University of California, Irvine.
