She was predeceased by: her parents, Clyde Alva Mitchell and Georgette Dunn Mitchell; and her brothers, Eric Lewis Mitchell, Walter Mitchell, Charles Clifford Mitchell and Howard Ellis Mitchell.
She is survived by: her former husband Leo Elgie "Red" Chastain; her daughter Barbara Jean (Jack Fesler); her sister Eleanor Mitchell McLaughlin; and her daughters, Carole Chastaing and Sherry Chastain. She is also survived by 8 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren and many nephews, nieces and cousins.
