He is survived by: his wife Ellie; and his children, Erich Schmidbauer (Janet), Andy Schmidbauer (Joy), Lynda Schmidbauer (Rick), Kathy Stinocher (LeAnn) and Ellie Murphy-Racey (Patrick). He is also survived by his 11 grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in honor of Fritz, to Saint Michael Indian School in St. Michaels, Arizona (stmichaelindianschool.org).
