Gordon W. Mach Obituary
Gordon W Mach, 74, passed away at Honor Health Deer Valley Hospital, Phoenix, AZ on Saturday September 20 after a long illness.
Mr. Mach was born in Appleton, WI on September 30, 1950 to George M Mach and Beatrice K (nee: Stanfa) Mach. The oldest of five children, Gordon attended the Racine public schools and graduated with honors from J.I. Case High School in 1968. He excelled in mathematics and science and was a skilled chess player. As a high school student, Gordon played clarinet in orchestra and band, winning several awards at state music competitions. He earned his bachelor's degree in business administration from the University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee in 1974 and was employed as a cost accountant, manager and corporate controller for several manufacturing firms in the Milwaukee area. On relocating to Arizona in 2005, he held various accounting positions at several companies throughout the Phoenix, AZ area until retirement.
He was united in marriage at Perseverance Presbyterian Church in Milwaukee, WI to Ann Marie Plaziak on August 30, 1986. Benjamin G. Mach, a son, was born in December 1990. The family relocated from Brookfield, WI to Arizona in 2005 and have resided in the Phoenix area since that time.
In addition to son Benjamin Mach, Gordon is survived by siblings Greg Mach of Racine, WI, Colleen (Gary) VanKoningsveld of Fairview, MI, and Garret (Jeanne) Mach of Cave Creek, AZ. He was preceded in death by Kathy (Schaefer) Tate of Cape Girardeau, MO.
Mr. Mach had several nieces and nephews, Ross (Kathrinn) and Ryan Schaefer, Cape Girardeau, MO, Adam (Megan) VanKoningsveld, Barton City, MI, Joshua Mach, Minneapolis, MN, Heidi (Duke) Uperesa, Stavenger, Norway, Jacquelyn (Jason) Doty, and Hannah Wheeler, Cave Creek, AZ. Several great nieces and nephews reside in Arizona, Missouri, Michigan, Minnesota, and Norway.
