Hiroko Brooks Obituary
Hiroko (Ozaki) Brooks was born on December 10, 1934, in Kochi-City, Tokushima-Ken, Japan.
She met her husband, Jimmie E. Brooks, in 1959, when he was stationed in Japan with the U.S. Navy. They were married on March 17, 1961, at the American Consulate in Yokohama, Japan.
She joined her husband in the U.S. in September 1961, and became a naturalized citizen of the U.S. in April 1969.
Hiroko never worked outside the home, but was a valuable partner to her husband during his 30-year Navy career. Hiroko and Jimmie had two daughters, Joanna Lynn Brooks, and Michelle Rene (Brooks) Montgomery.
Hiroko was preceded in death by her daughter, Joanna, and by her grandson, Benjamin A. Montgomery. In addition to Benjamin, she had two granddaughters, Jillian Schneider and husband, Bradley; and Morgan Montgomery. She also had four great-grandchildren.
Hiroko will be cremated. There will be no service. Donations to the Dementia Society of America, if anyone would like to do something in remembrance of Hiroko's 91 years of life.
