It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Janet Gates Hayes of Mesa, Arizona, born in Minneapolis, Minnesota, who passed away on April 11, 2022, at the age of 77, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her husband Martin J. Hayes, Jr.; her parents, Ray M. Gates and Lois Gildehaus Gates; her brother David Marshall Gates; her grandparents, Rufus, Frances Harrison Gates, Frederick and Eda Morgens Gildehaus; and her nephew Gregory Gates.
She is survived by: her sister Beverly Hovis (Terry); her sister-in-law Judy Herbst Gates; and her nieces and nephews, Steven Hovis (Annelu), Martha Hovis Keane (Justin), Ryan Gates (Tricia), Diana Gates Yakovitz (Josh), Lara Gates Buchek (Tim), Kimberly Gates (Josh Heriford), Thomas Gates (Julie) and Andrea Gates (late Greg).
