It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Jay Lavinne Smith III of Mesa, Arizona, born in Norton, Kansas, who passed away on February 18, 2023, at the age of 82, leaving to mourn family and friends. He is survived by: his wife Barbara Smith of Mesa, AZ.; his children, Jay Smith (Cathy) of Pine, AZ, Susan Croye (Mike) of Mesa, AZ, Carol Coffey (Mike) of Pahrump, NV, Cindy Knudsen and David Smith (Ernestina) of Tempe, AZ.; his grandchildren, Jay Smith V, Christy Hendrix (Sean), Becky Smith, Joshua Croye (Stacie), Brianna Tournas (Bryan), Michael Coffey, Brittany Coffey, Amber Long (Jake), Alyssa Nelson, Courtney Knudsen, Beth Craig (Jake), Valeria Smith and Marcos Smith; his great grandchildren, LJ, Damien, Derek, Victoria, Lexi, Gabby, Mabel, McKenna, Kanyon, Aiden, Griffin, Landon, Maddy, Ryan, Emma, Noah and Caleb; his siblings, Bob Smith (Debbie) of Scottsdale, AZ and Judy Needham of Randolph, MA; and his siblings-in-law, Ronnie Key (Nelda) and Billie Key.
In lieu of flowers the family has asked that donations be made to The Parkinson's Foundation.
