He was predeceased by: his parents, Lester K. Olson and Dorothy W. Olson; and his wife Joan Moore of Troy. He is survived by: his children, Kirstin of Mountain House, CA, John Joseph (Huichi) and Kris; his granddaughter Raechel of Las Vegas, NV; his daughter Erica Melies (PJ); his grandsons, Brody and Austin; his great grandchild Ryder of Mesa, AZ.; and his siblings, Karen Lennon of Cos Cob, CT and Peter Olson (Patricia) of El Paso.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in John's memory may be made to Catholic Charities Mana House, that supports military veterans in finding a home.
