He was predeceased by: his parents, Francisco Zayas and Josefa Rivera. He is survived by: his wife Elsie; his children, Justo Jr., Maritza, Clarissa and Awilda; his stepdaughter Michelle; and his grandchildren, Javier Jr., Stephanie, Jean, Andres, Daniel, Isaac and Sergio.
