She was predeceased by: her parents, Anna and Arthur; her sister Betty Ann; and her great-nephew J. D. Haney. She is survived by: her daughter Kay Lene Franklin; her stepdaughters, Margaret and Patricia; her sisters, LaRene and Arthea; her siblings' children, Linda, Jeneane, Gene, Randy and Roger; her granddaughter Avery; and her great-nieces and great-nephews, James "Daniel", Troy, Eibhleann and Eleanor.

“I met Kathy in the 7th grade. We went all thru Jr high and high school together. We have remained friends all these years. We had our 50th reunion in 2019. I met her for lunch when she was visiting Colorado and she said to me we really need to go to this one. We did enjoy ourselves and I thank God I got to spend time with her that weekend. I love you Kathy and I will miss. I was so blessed to have known you and had you for a good friend. Faylene Edens”
